Moses, Maurice, and then Morris (in 1870) are most likely the same man. in 1860. As of 24 July 1860, Morris Whalen was also known as Maurice Whalen.³ He and Ellen (?) appeared on the census of 24 July 1860 at Avon, Livingston Co., NY, along with Morris Whalen.³ As of 4 July 1870, Morris Whalen was also known as Morris Whelan.⁴ He and Ellen (?) appeared on the census of 4 July 1870 at Flint, Genesee Co., MI, along with Morris Whalen.⁴
