Elizabeth Melvina Copeland was born circa 1848 at IL.5 She was born circa 1850 at GA.6 She and Alexander Taylor Strange lived between 1872 and 1906 at farm near Walshville, IL; in the early years of their marriage.4 Elizabeth Melvina Copeland married Alexander Taylor Strange, son of John Anderson Strange and Fidello J. Gresham, on 22 August 1872 at old American House, corner of Main and Wood streets, Hillsboro, IL.7 Elizabeth Melvina Copeland and Alexander Taylor Strange appeared on the census of 4 June 1880 at Grisham Township, Montgomery Co, IL, along with Elizabeth Melvina Copeland.6 She and Alexander Taylor Strange appeared on the census of 10 January 1920 at 615 Tremont St., Hillsboro, IL, along with Elizabeth Melvina Copeland.8 She and Alexander Taylor Strange were celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. In A.T.'s own account of their married life, he says, "they have endured and enjoyed the usual amount of trials, successes and felicities, and can truly and appreciatively say that they have had more sunshine than shade, more friends than enemies, more joy than sorrow, more success than failure, and received more good from the people of the world than they are able to return." on 22 August 1922 at their cottage at the Litchfield-Hillsboro Chautauqua, Montgomery Co., IL.7 Elizabeth Melvina Copeland and Alexander Taylor Strange appeared on the census of 9 April 1930 along with Elizabeth Melvina Copeland.9 She died on 21 January 1932 at home, 615 Tremont St., Hillsboro, IL, at age 84.2 She was buried on 23 January 1932 at Oak Grove mausoleum, Hillsboro, IL.2
