John Richard Mayer was an exchange student during the summer of in 1969 at Narutô High School, Chiba-Ken, Japan.² He graduated in 1970 at Arthur Hill High School, Saginaw, MI.³ He was a college exchange student between 1972 and 1973 at Waseda University, Tokyo, Japan.² He graduated in 1974 at University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, MI; with a Bachelor of Arts, cum laude, in Far Eastern Languages and Literature.² He moved in 1979 to the San Francisco area, CA.³ He was employed by an assistant manager between 1981 and 1995 at Marubeni America Corp., a trading company, San Francisco, CA.^3,2 He graduated in 1983 at University of California, Berkeley, Berkeley, CA; with an Master of Arts in Oriental Languages and Literature.⁴ He established Arapacana Press in San Francisco to publish his own genealogy books. His first publications were published by Beaux Arts Press, also in San Francisco circa 1986. For all of his adult life, he researched the Strange family and wrote 12 books about them covering more than 900 years of history. At the time of his death, five of those books had been published and were available in the Library of Congress and the Family History Library in Salt Lake City, UT. He was considered a world-wide authority on the Strange family. He also wrote a genealogical dictionary which was yet to be published.

John wrote and spoke modern colloquial Japanese. He was skilled in reading and translating literary and classical Japanese, as well as classical Chinese prose and poetry. He could also read French, German, Latin, Sanskrit, Tibetan, and Greek.³ He died on 31 March 1998 at California Pacific Medical Center, San Francisco, CA, at age 45; of pneumonia, cytomegalovirus encephalitis, and AIDS.⁵ He was cremated and his ashes were buried on 11 April 1998 at 17000 Armstrong Woods Rd., Guerneville, CA.³

He was employed in 1997 at Maple Ridge Supply, Alpena, MI. He was employed by Operations Manager between November 1998 and 27 August 2002 at Consumer Office Furniture, Saginaw, MI. He died on 27 August 2002 at Covenant Hospital, Saginaw, MI, at age 54; of arteriosclerotic heart disease. He was buried on 31 August 2002 at St. Andrews Cemetery, Saginaw, MI.

Reginald Cannon Strange appeared on the census of 10 January 1920 in the household of Dr. Eury Boon Strange and Floy Belle Cannon at 600 Fairmont Place, Hillsboro, IL.¹ Reginald Cannon Strange was employed by as a buyer in the fashion department in 1929 at Montgomery Ward, Chicago, IL.³ He married Marguerite Catherine Cimbalista, daughter of John Cimbalista and Mary Balzask, on 24 August 1929 at Methodist Episcopal Temple, Chicago, IL.^3,4,2 Reginald Cannon Strange died on 29 May 1965 at Hillsboro, Montgomery Co., IL, at age 55.

     Francis Strange is the son of Alexander Strange Jr.

      Harry Byron Landholt was also known as Byron. He was born on 24 March 1918 at Springfield, IL.¹ He was the son of Harry Landholt and Izetta Purcell.¹ Harry Byron Landholt died on 29 October 2006 at Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, Plymouth, Marshall County, Indiana, at age 88.¹

     Terry Allen Strange is the son of Eury Elston Strange and Loretta Hall.

     Leslie Ann Strange is the daughter of Eury Elston Strange and Loretta Hall.

     Eury Bruce Strange is the son of Eury Elston Strange and Loretta Hall.

     The Reverend David Eury Landholt was born on 23 June 1943 at Decatur, IL.¹ He was the son of Harry Byron Landholt and Geraldine Strange. The Reverend David Eury Landholt graduated in 1966 at the University of Oklahoma. He graduated in 1969 at Virginia Theological Seminary; with a Masters of Divinity. He was served as priest at Trinity Episcopal Church, Southport, CT. He was served as priest at St. Timothy's and St. Luke's Episcopal Church, Columbia, SC. He was executive director at The Domestic Abuse Center, Columbia, SC. He was awarded the Order of Palmetto by the Govenor of SC for his work with The Domestic Abuse Center in November 2003. He died on 16 December 2003 at Columbia, SC, at age 60. David Eury's obituary appeared in at Columbia, SC, on 18 December 2003 and read as follows: THE REVEREND DAVID E. LANDHOLT
COLUMBIA - Memorial service for The Reverend David E. Landholt, 60, of Columbia, will be held 11:30 o'clock Saturday morning, December 20, 2003, in St. Michael and All Angel's Episcopal Church. The Reverend Landholt died Tuesday, December 16, 2003. Born in Decatur, IL, he was a son of Byron and Geraldine Strange Landholt. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Oklahoma in 1966 and Masters of Divinity from the Virginia Theological Seminary in 1969. The Reverend Landholt retired from the Episcopal Church in July, 2003, having served as priest in Trinity Episcopal Church, Southport, CT, St. Timothy's and St. Luke's Episcopal Churches in Columbia. He was the executive director of The Domestic Abuse Center of Columbia and was awarded the Order of Palmetto for his work and contribution for this cause.

Survivors include his long time companion and friend, Donna Burrows of Columbia, his parents of Plymouth, IN; children, Nicole D. Holsopple and her husband Vaughn of Columbus, OH, Kristin A. Landholt of Los Angeles, CA, Timothy I. Landholt and Heather Y. Landholt both of Columbia; grandchildren, Holly and Tyler Holsopple; sister, Julie K. Landholt of Hollywood, CA; brother, William W. Landholt and his wife Barbara; niece, Kimberly K. Landholt; nephew, Cary D. Landholt and his wife, Aaliya all of IL. The Reverend Landholt was preceded in death by brother, James A. Landholt.
Funeral services were held at St. Michael and All Angel's Episcopal Church, Columbia, SC, on 20 December 2003 with The Reverend Dr. Phillip H. Whitehad and The Reverend Dennis Smith officiating.

     William Walter Landholt is the son of Harry Byron Landholt and Geraldine Strange.

     James Andrew Landholt was born on 2 March 1953 at Lawrenceville. He was the son of Harry Byron Landholt and Geraldine Strange. As of 1995,the address of James Andrew Landholt was 77 Fifth Ave., Apt. 19-A, New York, NY. He died on 6 February 1996 at Naperville, IL, at age 42; of AIDS. A memorial service was held at 448 DuPahze St., Naperville, IL, on 10 February 1996 and conducted by his brother, Rev. David Landholt.

     Julie Kathryn Landholt is the daughter of Harry Byron Landholt and Geraldine Strange.
